The first flight of the Grand Prix de Paris is in the book. 110 players started the first flight and only 60 remains to play on Day 3. The Aviation Club de France is the venue for this elite event. Pick up tells from a player sweating after an ALL-IN may not be due to his anxiety but rather the environmental condition. Players and media were packed into 2000 square foot area and it was an extremely hot. SEE TOURNAMENT PICTURES to see the tight perimeter.
The action was plentiful early as John Duthie (founder of the EPT) tripled up when he makes the nut flush on the turn and two of his opponents went ALL-IN with the 2nd et 3rd nut flushes. Final Table Finalist Tim Anders, Claus Nielsen, Amir Vahedi, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Gary Lloyd (WPTonline Qualifier) were eliminated before the players reached the Dinner Break.
Après la pause dîner, ce sont Juha Helppi, Kiril Garasimov, Isabelle Mercier, Sverre Sondbo et Martin Wendt qui sont sortis avant la fin de la journée.
Top American Phil Hellmuth faired well in Day 1, leaving the day among the chip leaders at around 45k. Hellmuth was very low keyed today perhaps a major case of jet lag coming across the Atlantic. Victor Ramdin (Foxwood Classic Winner) had an up and down day. He ran into pocket Aces while holding Kings and was crippled down to 1800 in chips. He managed to bounce back nicely and ended the day at 20,000 en chips. 7th place finisher Vanessa Rousso is also at this venue. She took a bad beat on the river when a player took a huge pot off of her when he hit a two outer. She will be looking to double up her 9000 chips quickly come Day 3.
Tomorrow will be Flight 2. Player that will be participating tomorrow will be Defending Champ Roland de Wolfe, Carlos Mortensen, Alan Goehring, Steven Frederick, Paul "X22" Magriel, Freddy Bonyadi, Season 3 Champ Surinder Sunar, Casey Kastle, and Erica Schoenberg.
Come back tomorrow at 7:00suis (PST) ou 4:00pm (Paris time).
