The Holland Casino in the center of Amsterdam was packed with action all throughout the day and plenty of top players gave it their best.

Two of the local favorites made an appearance today, as Noah Boeken and Marcel Luske joined the tournament. The former had already played on Day 1a, and busted again on Day 1b when he lost a coinflip for his tournament life with fives against ace-king.

Three-time WPT champions Chino Rheem - one of Boeken's friends - was knocked out again on Day 1b as well, just as his fellow triple champion Anthony Zinno.

/ Niveau 7 : 400/800 (100)

Fallen champion from 2015 Farid Yachou announces three more hands after drawing a card offered from tournament director Christian Sclazi, all of which happened just after his bust-out. Farid drew a three, so players will be seeing that many more deals in order to spin up or lock up.

"I really enjoyed it. I had an amazing year, and winning the Tournament of Champions was incredible." said Farid, who remains the ultimate Hendon Mob poker page - two cashes, two wins.

"I've only played five tournaments. I work in property and I rarely have time, but I enjoy it so much."

"Steve [Warburton] would be great, of course, I really like Steve. But I like so many players, they're all so great."

Everyone we've met says the same about Farid, so whoever does win on Saturday night will have to go some to be a champion remembered as fondly.

Koren et Kicik

/ Niveau 7 : 400/800 (100)

/ Niveau 6 : 300/600 (75)

In the last hand before the final 15-minute break of the day, we saw Fraser MacIntyre win a chunky 16,000 pot from Steve O'Dwyer after he showed pocket jacks on a board Coeur 9club de 3Diamant 7Bêche ADiamant 9 O'Dwyer is suddenly fairly short at just 29,000 - and especially after being so high in the chip counts earlier.

Players will be back in 15 minutes for a final hour-long level and then Day 1's a and b will be over. There will be some Day 2 stacks being counted!

Un total de 172 les joueurs sont entrés le jour 1b so far, and 107 of those are still playing as of right now. The average stack today so far is 48,224 chips ou 80 gros blinds.

Ramos à la hausse

/ Niveau 5 : 250/500 (75)

Brazilian professional Felipe Ramos endured a fairly underwhelming Day 1a, but he's making up for it on Day 1b, and looks to be in his element at the table tonight. The self-proclaimed 'Snapchat King' from Brazil was betting 5,000 en 10,000 pot as we joined the action on a flop of Pique 10Pique 4Diamant 10 . Faced with this bet, Felipe's opponent called, then both men checked the Bêche A tourner la carte. Sur la rivière de Club Q , however, Ramos led out for 11,500 and was asked why he had to have an ace when his opponent had a good pair.

"I don't have an ace. It's a bluff. If I have an ace in my hand when you call, I'll give you the pot."

"If I fold, you show?"

"Of course not. Never show. Good players don't give away information for free!"

"I think you have it. You want me to fold?"

"Of course! Fold ... and fast. Don't give me a heart attack!" begged Ramos. He got his wish, a fold meaning a sizeable pot was slid in his direction, and the Brazilian racks up over 90,000.

Martinsson double grâce à O'Dwyer

/ Niveau 5 : 250/500 (75)

Adam Martinsson has just got all of his chips into the middle and doubled through Steve O'Dwyer. Martinsson saw the player to his right raise to 1100, so re-raised to 2700. O'Dwyer 4-parier sur 5,500 and it was folded to Martinsson, who shoved for 18,900. O'Dwyer made the call with Diamant APique K and was racing against Martinsson's Pique QDiamant Q

Le conseil d' Pique 2Coeur 7Pique 7Coeur 10Diamant 8 kept Martinsson ahead and he's back above starting stack.  O'Dwyer is still very well placed on around 50,000.

"Un cadeau" pour Peters

/ Niveau 5 : 250/500 (75)

Pierre : Coeur unDiamant A Adversaire: Bêche APique Q

/ Niveau 5 : 250/500 (75)

Scottish pro Ludovic Geilich has played all over the world, and with tournament results in 10 different countries we asked how about different playing styles in different countries. This video is a great piece of strategic advice if you are playing abroad for the first time.

Pêcheur attrapé

/ Niveau 5 : 250/500 (75)

Steve O'Dwyer made it 1,000 to go from mid-position (not an uncommon sight at his table). Only Gary Fisher in the small blind called and the two men saw a flop of Diamant JPique JCoeur 9 whereupon O'Dwyer bet 1,000 and Fisher called. On the turn of Diamant 3 , les deux hommes ont vérifié pour voir une rivière de Club K .

Fisher pondered long and hard, eventually betting 2200. O'Dwyer went into the tank, but made the call and was shown Diamant 4Coeur 4 by a chagrin Fisher. O'Dwyer turned over Coeur KCoeur 6 and Fisher nodded as the Irishman swept another pot. Since the hero fold earlier, O'Dwyer is up to 49,000, well above average and super-comfortable at his table.

Fisher has 14,000 and after the hand, audibly wonders how he might have got O'Dwyer to throw away the winning hand, which O'Dwyer indulges. There really is a very warm atmosphere here in Amsterdam, every table seems to have smiling faces, win or lose each crucial pot.

Kassouf refroidi par Koren

/ Niveau 3 : 75/150 (25)

"I've booked to be here until Sunday, so I'm gutted right now that I won't be running deep." he told us after busting in an extremely harsh way.

Avec son pot des alentours 13,000 in the middle by the turn on a board of Diamant JDiamant 3Diamant APique 8, we joined the action to see Jamie White lead for 5,500. That was raised all-in by Kassouf for 22,500, mais alors sur-relancé all-in for 80,700 by Artur Koren. White got out of the way, and Kassouf saw that his flopped flush of Diamant 8Diamant 9 was rendered useless by Koren's nut-flush of Diamant KDiamant 10 to bump Koren up to well over 120,000 and send Kassouf back to his hotel to look at sightseeing brochures and the WPT festival schedule for the rest of the week. Cold.

L'homme sans chaussures : Anthony Spinella

/ Niveau 3 : 75/150 (25)

During the most recent World Poker Tour LAPC Main Event all eyes were on Anthony Spinella, who lead the way coming into the final table. Spinella ended up busting out in sixth place for $191,250, and a WPT title is still missing from his list of achievements.

Last summer however, Spinella won a WSOP bracelet for $197,743 and today we caught up with him at WPT Amsterdam.

O'Dwyer fait plier un héros

/ Niveau 3 : 75/150 (25)

Steve O'DwyerSteve O'Dwyer just made a fantastic fold here in the Main Event. Having got into a three-way raising war, O'Dwyer made what was either a 4-bet or 5-parier sur 9,000 and saw his next opponent call his 7,000 stack off to go all-in, but then another player re-raised all-in to 22,500.

It looked like a strong move, but O'Dwyer looked like he really wanted to call, especially after getting those exact counts and running the numbers. It was a pained fold he made, but his reward of seeing what the hands were was guaranteed with that player all-in and at risk for just 7,000. The over-raise was with ClubABêche A and O'Dwyer could pat himself on the back for not potentially losing most of his stack, as the board played out very dry to leave the gentleman with aces counting up around 38,000 chips.

/ Niveau 3 : 75/150 (25)

Sandro Pitzanti just found himself all in for 14,000 and his shove was called creating the following showdown.

Pitzanti : Diamant QCoeur Q Adversaire: Club JPique 10

Le tableau est épuisé Diamant 5Coeur KCoeur 5club de 5Pique J and Pitzanti doubled his stack to 30,000.

Ellis transpire avec les as

/ Niveau 3 : 75/150 (25)

I just wanted to come out her to visit such a great city again. I found out the tournament was on so thought 'Why not?'"

"It's not fun to have a sweat with pocket aces, but my opponent had aces too, and one of his was in diamonds. We got it all in and the flop brought three diamonds. I fade turn and river, but you can do without a sweat with aces!"

The opponent in question was Jan de Mol, who currently has around 40,000. Mike Ellis has even more, with 60,000 to his name - double the starting stack.
