After six levels of play, Day 1 is in the books with about 105 joueurs restants du champ original de 208. The full list of official chip counts will be posted by morning when it is released by the casino.
Tamayo thinks for a while before he folds, and Pilgrim takes the pot, construisant sa pile à environ 130,000.
Alors qu'il tire dans le pot, Pilgrim says, "I don't take a lot of spots, but when I choose 'em, I bring a sledgehammer." There is a little more discussion about the hand, and a few minutes later Pilgrim adds, "I had no doubt in my mind that I was ahead on that river."
Pèlerin de Dwyte - 130,000
Jonathan Tamayo - 24,000
With the final board showing [QdJd8s3c6d] et environ 18,000 déjà dans le pot, Daniel Negreanu parie 8,500 from the cutoff, and the small blind check-raises to 17,500. Negreanu thinks for a while, asking, "Aces? Is it aces?" His opponent doesn't respond.
His opponent says, "Good call," and shows [2c2d]. Negreanu shows [Qh10c] pour gagner le pot with a pair of queens, building his stack to about 81,000.
Daniel Negreanu - 81,000
Les éliminations récentes incluent Jason "JPOSU" Potter, Amit Makhija, Jeff Madsen et Al Krux.
Potter was eliminated when his 8-8 failed to hold against another player's A-Q.
Makhija was all in with K-K after a flop of J-3-2, but his opponent had 5-4 and caught his straight.
Après un flop de [Qd6d2x], Madsen was all in with [Ad2d] (pair of deuces, flush draw) against Dan O'Brien's Q-Q (top set). Madsen failed to improve, and O'Brien won the pot, construisant sa pile à environ 110,000.
Dan O'Brien - 110,000
Paul Wasicka ouvre le pot from middle position for a 1,800 raise and Keith Lehr calls from behind. The flop comes [10h6h2s] and Wasicka leads out for 3,200. Lehr raises to 8,400, leaving himself with only about 5,000 behind. Wasicka thinks for a moment before moving all in.
Lehr says "Well, I'm sure you have me" but calls off his remaining chips anyway.
Wasicka: [10c4c]
Lehr: [Js10s]
Le tableau se remplit [10h6h2s2cQd] resulting in a chopped pot, as both players have two pair (tens and deuces) with a queen kicker.
Paul Wasicka - 88,000
Keith Lehr - 19,400
A player in early position raises and a player in late position calls. Faraz Jaka is in the big blind and reraises to 5,500. Both players call. The flop comes [KdJc4s] and Jaka checks. The original raiser bets out 7,800 and the player in late position folds. Jaka grabs a fist full of orange chips (about 18,000 worth) and cavalierly tosses them into the middle. His opponent moves all in and Jaka calls for the remainder of his chips.
Jaka: [Kc3d]
Adversaire : [JhJd]
Jonathan Petit - 88,000
A short stacked Lee Markholt moves all in from early position for 4,675 and is called by a player in late position.
Markholt: [Ac8c]
Adversaire" [KsQh]
Le conseil vient [Annonce4c3cAh9h] giving Markholt trip aces to double up to 10,400.
Paul Wasicka - 105,000
Tommy Vedès - 98,000
James Mackey - 93,000
Justin Smith - 92,000
JJ Liu - 90,000
Éliminations récentes :
Éric Baldwin
Bill Edler
Glen Chorny
Eric Baldwin was mixing it up with another player with the board showing 8-6-3-Q with two hearts. Baldwin moved all in, and his opponent called with Q-Q for top set. Baldwin showed [7h5h] for an open-ended straight draw with a flush draw, but he missed all of his outs on the river.
Baldwin, who recently won Card Player's 2009 Player of the Year award, was eliminated from the tournament.
Paul Wasicka - 98,000
Avec les stores à 200-400, Connie Voss moves all in from early position for 6,325. Two players call, one from middle position and the other from the button.
In case you missed the earlier post, Connie was diagnosed with terminal cancer a few months ago, and her friends raised the money for her $10,000 buyin so she could play in a World Poker Tour event -- the #1 item on her "bucket list."
Le flop arrive [10c2c2h], and both players check the dry side pot. The turn card is the [Kh], the middle-position player checks, the button bets 2,150, and the first player folds.
Connie turns over [Kc9c] for two pair, kings and deuces, but the button shows [KsJh] for the same two pair with a higher kicker. The river card double-pairs the board with the [10h], and the button wins the pot avec deux paires, des rois et des dix, et un valet kicker.
Kathy Liebert was showing up as eliminated in the chip counts, but she is still playing in the tournament with about 23,000 en chips.
Kathy Liebert - 23,000
