Meilleur pari WPT Jacksonville Fall Poker Scramble

After almost four hours and just under 100 hands, the six-handed final table at the Season XII World Poker Tour bestbet Jacksonville Fall Poker Scramble has come to a rapid close with Jared Jaffee becoming the latest WPT champion. Jaffee breaks through for the win after having made two previous WPT final tables at the Southern Poker Championship in Season VIII (finishing fourth) and the Legends of Poker in Season IX (finishing fifth). 

When the final six players arrived today -- survivors from the 358 total entrants -- Jaffee enjoyed a huge chip lead with nearly a third of the chips in play. Here's how things stood at the start:

Jaffee would keep the lead for the first part of the afternoon, including taking the last of satellite winner Johnny Price's chips on just the seventh hand of play when the latter ran [Ts][Td] into Jaffee's [As][Ad] and failed to improve. Corrie Wunstel would be the next to go in fifth, also falling victim to Jaffee when his [Ac][Jd] couldn't catch up to Jaffee's [9h][9c].

Meanwhile the lone woman left in the event, Margo Costa, began the day playing aggressively and chipping up, but eventually fell back to the pack before getting knocked out by Blake Purvis to finish fourth. Costa's last hand saw her raising all in on [Qs][4c][3s] flop with [Kh][Th] and being unable to move Black Purvis off his [7d][7c], with no help coming for her on the turn or river.

With that knockout Purvis had edged almost even with Jaffee while Michael Horchoff sat in a distant third with less than 10 big blinds. Soon Horchoff would lose the last of those chips to Purvis to take third when his [Kd][7c] couldn't hold against Purvis's [Jd][8d] as the board brought Purvis two pair and Horchoff none.

That set up heads-up play between Purvis and Jaffee. The pair started nearly dead even in chips -- separated by less than one big blind, in fact -- with Purvis having just snatched the chip lead away from Jaffee for the first time all day. But Jaffee would win the first two hands between them to edge in front again, and after 40 more hands had edged out to about a 2-À-1 chip lead when the final hand took place.

Whereas Jaffee had used pocket aces to score the first knockout of the final day, Purvis would find the same hand to be his undoing after getting all of his stack in on a [Jd][Jh][6h] flop with [Ah][As] versus Jaffee's [4h][2h]. The turn was a harmless [6c], but the [Qh] on the river gave Jaffee a heart flush and the win.

Main #98 - On the first hand of the new level, Jared Jaffee has the button and folds, giving Blake Purvis the pot.

Main #99 - Purvis raises to 250,000 and Jaffee calls. The flop comes [Jd][Jh][6h]. Jaffee checks, Purvis bets 400,000, and Jaffee check-raises to 1.3 million. Purvis then quickly announces he is pushing all in for roughly 3.4 million total and Jaffee calls right away.

Jaffee shows [4h][2h] for a heart flush draw while Purvis has [Ah][As] for aces and jacks. The players both stand to watch the last two community cards arrive.

Le tour est le [6c], and Purvis is still ahead. But the river brings the [Qh], completing Jaffee's flush to give him the hand and the title. Purvis earns $166,139 for his second-place finish, while Jaffee wins the title and a $252,749 premier prix.

Main #96 - Jaffee makes it 175,000 from the button and Purvis lets it go.

Main #97 - Purvis raises to 190,000 from the button and Jaffee puts out a three-bet to 455,000. Purvis calls and the two take a flop.

The dealer fans [5h5s3h] on the felt and Purvis checks. Jaffee bets 575,000 and Purvis lets it go. 

Main #89 - Blake Purvis raises to 190,000 from the button and Jared Jaffee calls. The flop comes [Jc][5d][4h] and both check. The turn brings the [8s], Jaffee bets 275,000, and Purvis calls. The river is the [9d]. Jaffee bets 540,000 this time and Purvis folds.

Main #90 - Jaffee raises to 175,000 and Purvis folds.

Main #91 - Purvis limps in, Jaffee checks, and the flop comes [Qs][Jh][4h]. Jaffee checks, Purvis bets 125,000, and Jaffee folds.

Main #92 - Purvis gets a walk in the big blind.

Main #93 - Purvis raises to 190,000 and Jaffee calls. The flop comes [Kc][Qd][Jc] and after Jaffee checks, Purvis fires 275,000 and Jaffee calls. The turn is the [6c] and both check.

The river brings the [3c] and both check again. Purvis shows [Kh][9s] for kings, and Jaffee mucks.

Main #86 - Jaffee raises to 175,000 and Purvis calls from the big blind. The two see a flop of [QcKc8s] and Purvis raps the table. Jaffee continues for 215,000 and Purvis wastes little time making it 500,000 to go. Jaffee lets it go and Purvis drags in the pot.

Main #87 - Purvis raises to 190,000 and Jaffee folds his big blind

Main #88 - Jaffee raises to 175,000 from his button and Purvis calls. A flop of [KsQc5h] falls and Purvis checks. Jaffee moves out 215,000 and Purvis flats.

Main #80 - Jaffee limps in, Purvis raises to 180,000, and Jaffee calls. The flop comes [Ad][Kh][3d] and both check. The turn is the [7d]. Purvis fires 225,000, and Jaffee calls. Both then check the [7s] river. Jaffee shows K-2 for kings and sevens, and Purvis mucks

Main #76 - Jaffee raises to 125,000 from the button and Purvis calls. The flop comes [Ts8h6s] and both players check to see the board pair with the [7d] on fourth street. Purvis checks and Jaffee bets 200,000. Purvis calls and the [3c] completes the board.

Purvis checks and Jaffee bets 455,000. Purvis calls immediately and shows [Th6h] for two pair. Jaffee shows [5c4c] for an eight-high straight and wins the pot.

Main #69 - Blake Purvis has the button and raises to 125,000 and Jared Jaffee folds.

Main #70 - Jaffee folds, giving Purvis a walk.

Main #71 - Purvis folds to give Jaffee the hand, and the latter flashes pocket nines as he collects the chips.

Main #72 - Jaffee raises to 125,000 and Purvis calls.  The flop comes [Qc][6[s][2c] and both check. The turn is the [5s]. Purvis bets 150,000 and Jaffee calls. The river is the [9c]. This time Purvis bets 200,000 and Jaffee calls again. Jaffee turns over [9h][2h] for nines and deuces and Purvis folds.

Main #65 - Blake Purvis raises to 155,000 from the button from the button only to have Jared Jaffee three-bet to 375,000. Purvis calls and the flop comes [8s7c3h].

Main #66 - Jaffee raises to 125,000 from the button and takes it down.

Main #67- Purvis raises to 125,000 from his button and Jaffee calls. The flop falls [JdTs2s]. Purvis bets and Jaffee folds.

Main #68 - Jaffee raises to 125,000 from the button, Purvis three-bet and Jaffee calls.

Main #62 - Jared Jaffee raises to 125,000 from the button and Blake Purvis calls. Both check down the [10d][8[s][5d] flop, [Kc] turn, and [Kh] river. Jaffee shows [Qc][8h] for kings and eights and Blake mucks.

Main #63 - Purvis limps from the button and Jaffee checks. The flop comes [Ac][9c][2c]. Jaffee checks, Purvis bets 75,000, and Jaffee calls. The turn is the [3s]. Jaffee checks, Purvis bets 250,000 this time, and Jaffee calls.

The river brings the [10h]. Jaffee checks, Purvis bets 500,000, and Jaffee calls again. Purvis turns over [3h][2h] for two pair and Jaffee mucks, showing the [As] as he does.

Main #64 - Jaffee raises to 125,000 and Purvis calls. The flop comes [Qd][3h][2h], and Purvis check-calls a bet of 165,000 from Jaffee. The turn is the [10h]. Purvis checks again, and when Jaffee bets 290,000, Purvis folds.

Main #58 - Jared Jaffee raises to 125,000 from the button and Blake Purvis folds.

Main #59 - Purvis raises to 155,000 from the button and Jaffee calls. The flop comes [7dKs3h] and Jaffee check-calls a continuation bet of 225,000. Both check the [5s] on the turn and the [3s] pairs the board on the river. Both players check once again. 

Purvis shows [6h6d] but is ultimately behind Jaffee's [Qh7c] for sevens and treys. Jaffee takes down the pot. 

Main #60 - Purvis receives a walk in the big blind. 

Main #61 - Purvis raises to 130,000 and Jaffee calls. The duo take a flop of [9hTh4s] and both players check.

Fourth street is the [8c] and Jaffee checks for a second time. Purvis bets 175,000 and Jaffee calls. The board finishes with the [Ac] and both players check. 

Jaffee shows [Ks7h] for king-high and it is good against Purvis' [Qs6s] for queen-high.

Main #54 - Jared Jaffee gets a walk in the big blind.

Main #55 - Jaffee raises to 125,000 from the small blind and wins.

Main #56 - Blake Purvis calls from the small blind, then Michael Horchoff raises all in from the big blind for 740,000 and Purvis steps aside.

Main #57 - Purvis raises to 120,000 from the button, then Horchoff reraises all in for 820,000 from the small blind. Jaffee folds, and Purvis calls.

Horchoff has [Kd][7c] and is ahead but needs his hand to hold versus Purvis's [Jd][8d]. The flop comes [Qc][6c][4c] and Horchoff still leads, but the turn is the [Jh] to give Purvis a pair.

A king or club can still save Horchoff, but the [8s] falls on fifth street and he is out in third for a cash of $106,904.
