Over the course of eleven 40-minute levels, the 180-strong field was reduced to 87 and at the end of it, Jazzar Maroun (pictured) managed to build the biggest stack, bagging 152,400.

They weren’t the only members of the six-figure club either. The inaugural €1,500 WPTDS Paris Main Event drew lots of big names today, with the likes of Maxime Panyak (114,000), Florence Allera (72,000), WPTDS Marrakech 2018 Champion François Tosques (63,700), Julien Sitbon (59,300), partypoker pro Bruno Fitoussi (55,700), Michel Leibgorin (54,900), Thomas Macnamara (46,600), Gaëlle Baumann (28,900) and partypoker pro �38; WPT Champion Bertrand Grospellier (21,100) all taking a shot.

The floor has announced that there will be a further four hands played before time is called on Day 1a.

Sébastien Le Baron est le premier à agir et boite sous le canon. L'action se couche jusqu'à Julien Sitbon au small blind et il suit. Bart Lybaert au big blind check son option.

Le flop arrive and Sitbon checks. Lybaert bets 2,000 and both of his opponents call.

Le En arrivant au tournant, les trois joueurs checkent.

Votre completes the board and Sitbon bets 3,500. Lybaert thinks about it for just a bit before he raises to 22,500. Le Baron tanks before he folds and Sitbon has an equally tough decision. He thinks long and hard, indicates he's about fifty-fifty either folding or calling and eventually decides on the former. Lybaert just smirks while raking in the pot.

It's the last level of the night with just forty more minutes on the clock for Day 1a of the WPTDeepStacks Paris Main Event. The blinds are up to 600 et 1,200 avec 1,200-grosse blinde ante.

Guisseppe Zarbo ouvre l'action à 2,300 et il reçoit deux appels, un de Jazzar Maroun au bouton et un de Bertrand Grospellier au big blind.

Ça arrive au flop et un cbet de Zarbo fait coucher Grospellier mais pas Maroun qui paie pour voir une autre carte.

Le tour tombe un , en associant la carte supérieure et Zarbo check-call un 5,000 parier cette fois. Il n'y a pas de pari sur le spectacles fluviaux et Zarbo pour un tirage quinte manqué, tandis que Maroun a un voyage avec .

En mai dernier, la Suède Simon Brandstrom a été couronné POY de la Saison XVII après sa victoire au WPTDS Barcelone, la plus grande jamais remportée en dehors de l'Amérique du Nord. Brandstrom a repris le titre du précédent vainqueur Tobias Peters.

Comme si cela ne suffisait pas, Brandstrom a pleinement profité de ces crédits, en utilisant certains d'entre eux pour participer au Main Event du WPT UK en octobre et le remporter pour 1000 $.330,000.

A couple of hands later and Bruno Fitoussi, Jean Maurice Montury and Simon Uzan are all in preflop. Montury has them both covered but the main pot against Uzan is very small, and he is in bad shape against Fitoussi for the more substantial side pot.
