Jour 1A has come to a close at the WPTDeepStacks Reno Main Event at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, and 20 joueurs qui ont avancé au Jour 2 du 87 entries. Frank Loera raises to 6,600 from under the gun and it folds to Rommel Santos in the small blind. Santos moves all in for 23,900 and the big blind folds. "I'll gamble with you" says Loera as he tosses in the calling chips and the hands are shown.

Brent Mutter raises to 4,200 from late position and Frank Loera calls from the small blind. Mario Lopez calls from the big blind and they go three handed to the flop. Loera leads out with a bet of 9,000 and Lopez quickly folds.

The players have returned from their break and the cards are back in the air. There are now just 27 Jour 1A players remaining in the field and there are just three levels of play left in the night.

As we approach the last break of the night the chips are flying and we have a new Day 1A chip leader. Frank Loera has been near the top of the chip counts all day but has moved into the lead. He is now closing in on 200,000 and has continued to add to his chip stack dragging in pot après pot.

Mario Lopez has also been in cruise control for much of the day and is right on the heels of Loera. Lopez is now playing 175,000 with his signature Super Mario card protector watching over his big stack.

The action folds to Ivan Holmes on the button he raises to 3,000. The player in the small blind reraises to 11,200 and the big blind folds. With the action back on Holmes he slides a stack of brown chips forward covering his opponent who has 75,000 derrière.

Kelvin Wilhoit tells us he was down to less than 5,000 at one point in the day but that is no longer the case. Wilhoit is now sitting behind a mountain of chips which looks to be close to 150,000. He is now near the top of the chip counts and in contention for the chip lead with just 33 joueurs restants.

"It's just beginners luck" says Wilhoit but we find that hard to believe after watching todays impressive performance.
